Welcome to 2015! And welcome to the Matrix! At least when we’re talking about the current leather trend! While leather pants have been more like the last try for years, they now have become the latest craze. And so they made it to an absolute must-have, like their older sisters, the leather jackets, did before. I already showed you my current favorite faux leather pants here, but the fashion industry has a lot more great leather pants to offer!

Christmas 2014 – a week tomorrow it is already Christmas Eve. And my to-do-list gets bigger and bigger. Each and every year I again plan to do a lot of things and think „Well, Christmas is still far away.“, but then, one week before Christmas, I take a look at my to-do-list and have to ascertain that I only did one thing from the list (mostly the one, that was the easiest to do). So, there’s a lot to do for the next seven days. Starting with the last presents I need to buy and baking cookies (of course, not only one sort, but vanilla crescents, tiny nut wedges, cut-out cookies…) through to cleaning up and doing the laundry, because everything needs to be tidy for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. And of course there’s this one crucial question: What the hell am I going to wear?
Each and every year there’s one thing that for sure at least starts with the 1st of December: the present-hunt! Crowds of people flock into the cities, online shopper tap their fingers to the bone – everybody is searching for Christmas gifts. (With the exception of a small group that proudly proclaims: „I’ve already got every single gift! Since month!“) A lot of people are searching patiently for the perfect christmas gifts and others just want to get the gift hunt over and done as quickly as possible.

Days are getting shorter, it’s getting cold outside, maybe you’ve caught the first cold and it’s only some days until the christmas markets open their doors. Somehow it feels like I’ve never been more excited for Christmas as this year. The christmas magic already got me and so I’m looking forward to the first glühwein, the first roasted almonds, to baking cookies and to the first snow. I’m looking forward to buying presents and wrapping it up lovely. I can’t wait for these cozy Christmas evening with my beloved ones. And of course I’m looking forward to festive styles. Each and every year, some weeks before Christmas, I start to think about what I could wear for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. And one thing’s always definite: it has to sparkle! When it comes to Christmas, I use to go for typical Christmas colors like silver, gold, red and dark green. Here are three looks that I would love to wear for Christmas!
„In love with… CAPES“ and „In love with… OVERKNEES“ follows today „In love with… WOOL COATS“. There was a time in my life, I refused to wear coats and winter jackets. I decided to wear three sweaters underneath my summer jackets and freeze unmovable through winter. I really can’t tell why. But if that wouldn’t have been enough – I had the same „problem“ with boots once, maybe it has been at the same time. „Who’s this crazy girl wearing a denim jacket and ballerinas in winter?“ That was me. But luckily these days are over and I’m in love with coats and boots since years. At the top of my „although I already got one, I need to buy some more-list“ currently stands a wool coat.
The first post of „In love with…“ was about CAPES – and here comes my second declaration of love. This time I’m „In love with… OVERKNEES“! What has been THE trend in the 1980s, obviously quickly became a fashion faux pas, although Julia Roberts truly casted a spell over us with her role in Pretty Women despite (or maybe just because) wearing overknees. That has been in 1990. Does it really took about 24 year, that trendsetters were able to replace the shady image of over knees? Not exactly. Over-the-knee boots already make a comeback since some years, but this fall/winter they finally made it to the must-have list.
Today starts a new category on the blog: „In love with…“ Aren’t we all women that fall in love quickly? At least when it comes to fashion? And is it reprehensible that we take no stock in monogamy in this matter? How is it that we aren’t satisfied with one pair of black boots? Without seeing through rose-colored glasses my black boots almost look identical – I guess the differences just can be seen with an enamored heart. But even if we don’t believe in monogamy, don’t we believe in endless love? I pledged allegiance to my boots and also to my flared jeans. And currently I’m about to swear fidelity to my growing collection of capes. That’s why the post of „In love with…“ starts with „In love with… CAPES.“

Even if the sun is hiding again these days, the sun keeps shining in our hearts and wardrobes. An absolute must-have for this summer are flower hair garlands. You can buy them in almost every shape, color and size. I collected my current favorites for you here – I especially love the one with the strawberries, but unfortunately it’s also the most expensive one, but, hey, we’re used to it, aren’t we? Honestly, you need to brave to wear these headpieces – so you can first practice with hair clips and hair barrettes.
