(ENGLISH/DEUTSCH) The all time favorite jeans, for sure, are blue jeans. They have always been and probably always will be – no matter if light blue or dark blue ones, skinny jeans, bootcut jeans, high […]
As I already told you, I’ve been so slowly last Sunday, that I sat in front of my laptop for donkey’s years to finish the “Weekly Flashback No. 2“. So there wasn’t much time left for some other craziness and we just had a relaxed evening at the balcony. By the way, that’s currently my absolute favorite place to be.
After waking up in my sleeping bag at the balcony… I’m kidding. The last Monday totally threw me off the track. We went to Bonn to get some things done at university and the plan was to shoot a new look after that – but everything went completely different. (Good and exciting different.) Unfortunately, it’s a secret and I can’t tell you know, but I hope I can tell you soon. Rest of Monday was gaga and so we just had another evening at the balcony.
Tuesday began as weird as Monday did end up. But because coffee can tidy up everything, it became better at midday! But because I had been that gaga on Monday and wasn’t able to get things done, I had to get them done on Tuesday.
„Dear brain, I know, it’s early in the morning and we only had one coffee by now. But, come on, we need to write this blogpost right now. So, what do you think, when you look at the pictures?”
„SUUUUUUUNSHIIIIIINE!! SEEEEEEAAAAA!! BEEEEAAAAACH!!”
„Yeeees, haha, soooo good! This day at the sea was just incredible. I can totally understand your joy, but we need some more sophisticated thoughts for this blogpost. So, go on!“

“Ahhhh, Forever 21!! Where? Where? Where?“ two girls screaming with laughter at me while pointing on my shopping bags. That’s what happened when I arrived in Cologne yesterday afternoon. Depending on where you live, your reaction might look the same, when I’m going to tell you, where my Forever 21 shopping bags came from: Mönchengladbach! Yes, a new Forever 21 store opened at the Minto Arcaden in Mönchengladbach yesterday! And that’s either near to Berlin, nor near to Munich, but in the middle of North-Rhine-Westphalia. And when I answered “Mönchengladbach” to the girls, their screaming with laughter turned into jumps of joy.
As soon as spring arrives, each and every year, I suddenly can’t wait for summer to come! And this funny button inside my head, that only knows two settings – winter and summer – switches. And because there effectively doesn’t exist fall or spring for me, me and my wardrobe behave as if it’s already summer. And so I start buying summer essentials in March, just to be over-punctual at the ready.
Some weeks ago I wrote about my six favorite spring / summer 2015 trends – and while I was searching for pieces that match the „Modern Safari“ trend, my wide linen pants, that I bought more than a year ago and didn’t wear once, came to my mind. Luckily they survived the dreary year inside of my closet. Because normally, when it comes to separating out and selling my clothes, my first rule is: „When you didn’t wear it throughout a year, you’ll never wear it again.“
The last weeks haven’t been summerly at all. So I wished badly for a summer comeback. At least for one summerly day, with blue skies and warm sunshine. Without summer rain. Although the weather forecast didn’t sound promising, we decided spontaneously to spend some days at the North Sea in the Netherlands. If we won’t get our sunshine, we’ll get at least some beach and sea days. We arrived on Wednesday evening, when it already got dark. As soon as we got our things out of the car and made the beds, it started to rain and storm. And with this sizzling gas heater, we had to turn on, because it was really cold inside, it kind of felt like an untimely, but cozy fall evening.
Each and every year I can’t wait for summer to come! But when summer’s finally there, I wonder why I have been so excited. It’s the first hot summer day. I’m lying on my bed, the sun is shining through the windows. I guess sun did that for a while, because it became super hot inside my flat. My good-morning-coffee makes me sweat even more. I need to take a shower. A cold one. What now? Blow-dry my hair. Bad idea – I could use another cold shower. But there’s no time for it. Make up. It’s way to hot for make up, but I think I can’t go without, so I just put on the essentials: mascara, powder and rouge. Until we’re leaving, I’m sitting with my bikini on my bed and think about what I’m going to wear. Outside it’s even more hot. I augur ill. Sure thing – my car is standing in the sun. I open the door and a heatwave rolls over me. I quickly open the windows and get out of the car again. Five minutes later it didn’t get better, but we’re going to hit the road. The steering wheel is unbelievably hot and I start to imagine how it would look like when it would melt. We arrive. We lay down our beach towels, I walk barefoot through the sand into the water. I can feel a small breeze.
