Leather Goods & Iphoria Cashmere Collection II How I met my outfit by Dana Lohmüller

Leather Goods & Iphoria Cashmere Collection

(English/Deutsch)

Slowly, but surely summer seems to be over and fall has finally arrived. And like each and every year I await fall with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m a little sad that it’s going to be colder and colder outside, but on the other hand I’m looking forward to the “leatherjackets, cozy sweaters and booties“- time of the year.

Christmas 2014 – a week tomorrow it is already Christmas Eve. And my to-do-list gets bigger and bigger. Each and every year I again plan to do a lot of things and think „Well, Christmas is still far away.“, but then, one week before Christmas, I take a look at my to-do-list and have to ascertain that I only did one thing from the list (mostly the one, that was the easiest to do). So, there’s a lot to do for the next seven days. Starting with the last presents I need to buy and baking cookies (of course, not only one sort, but vanilla crescents, tiny nut wedges, cut-out cookies…) through to cleaning up and doing the laundry, because everything needs to be tidy for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. And of course there’s this one crucial question: What the hell am I going to wear?

Days are getting shorter, it’s getting cold outside, maybe you’ve caught the first cold and it’s only some days until the christmas markets open their doors. Somehow it feels like I’ve never been more excited for Christmas as this year. The christmas magic already got me and so I’m looking forward to the first glühwein, the first roasted almonds, to baking cookies and to the first snow. I’m looking forward to buying presents and wrapping it up lovely. I can’t wait for these cozy Christmas evening with my beloved ones. And of course I’m looking forward to festive styles. Each and every year, some weeks before Christmas, I start to think about what I could wear for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. And one thing’s always definite: it has to sparkle! When it comes to Christmas, I use to go for typical Christmas colors like silver, gold, red and dark green. Here are three looks that I would love to wear for Christmas!

The New (Year's Eve) Dress by Hybrid II How I met my outfit

The New (Year’s Eve) Dress by Hybrid

The usual New Year’s Eve madness. There are almost 365 days in a year that we think about our outfit of the day, but it seems as if there’s no look that is more important and more well-considered than our New Year’s Eve look. While one of my friends decided some years ago to go to bed at 11 pm on each and every December 31 to keep herself from week-long planning and preparing, everybody else asks themselves two questions: What am I going to do? And what am I going to wear? The time lapse, when people start to plan their New Year’s Eve is long – I’ve got friends, who already ask me what we’re going to do in September (!!), but I’ve also got friends, who only right after Christmas happen to notice New Year’s Eve is coming. But sooner or later almost everyone gets grabbed by New Year’s Eve madness.

Boyfriend Jeans & Bubblegum II How I met my outfit

Boyfriend Jeans & Bubblegum

(EN/DE)

„I love you, you love me, please give me a Kaugummi (bubblegum).“ Bubblegum, what a brilliant invention, isn’t it!? Do you remember Hubba Bubba? When I was a child, I had been deeply in love with Hubba Bubba. My absolute favorite one was „apple“. Isn’t it funny how easy it is to keep a child busy? One pack of Hubba Bubba = busy for two hours. A couple of Hubba Bubba packages = on the run all day. Who’s going to guess the flavour? Who’s going to make the biggest gum bubble? Who’s able to chew the most bubblegums at one time? Sometimes I whish life would be that easy from time to time again. Meeting some friends, running with 50 pennies to a store and just trying to make gum bubbles the whole day. Or just playing a round „Mensch ärgere Dich nicht“ („Ludo“) against yourself and be more than happy when you’re the one who wins.

Did someone say "Woodstock"? II How I met my outfit

Did someone say “Woodstock”?

Did someone say „Woodstock“? I swear I heard someone say it while I was picking up this look. The Woodstock-Festival is legen… wait for it …dary! Legendary! I think it’s real cool that a onetime event has become symbol for a whole movement and its fashion. Probably most of us did not witness the Woodstock-Festival, but I guess almost everyone has an exact idea of it. If you visit my blog from time to time you may have noticed that I’m totally in love with the hippie style. But my new looks’ hippie style isn’t the only thing that’s „Woodstock“…

Nowadays it happens extremely rarely that I receive a classical text message. My friends mostly text me via Whats App or they just call me. The few text messages I receive, mostly are notifications about missed calls or advertising. Usually there’s nothing interesting in it, so from time to time it happens that they stay unread for a couple of days. It’s not that the tiny little numbers that appear in front of the message symbol don’t annoy me, but often I’m too lazy to get rid of them. Does it sound familiar to you? Sometimes I’m so lazy that I let myself get bugged by these kind of tiny little matters, instead of taking a minute and get it done. The day before yesterday I received a text message one again and I don’t know what came over me, but I read it immediately, as if I knew I was going to read something interesting: an invitation to Mangos pre-sale.

Summer Business Chic

schwarzes Shirt & weißer Lederrock // layered top & white leather skirt

(EN/DE)

It doesn’t have to be sweet and playful all the time – sometimes it may be a little classy and chic too. Even if you don’t care two fingers about business, like me, a cool summer business look is always right.  My most important date for yesterday has been „eating ice cream“, but even if you do have a really important business appointment, in summer it doesn’t always have to be a lady’s suit and a classic blouse. Lightly blouses and silk shirts, plain skirts or (currently very go-go) skorts, discreet jewelry and plain pumps – and your “summer business chic” look’s done.

Does it almost feel like summer for you, as well? Cologne anyway has got a sun-subscribtion and I hope it’s not a trial one, but one with a lengthy contract term. But it doesn’t only feel like summer, it also looks like summer: in front of ice cream shops people stand in queue, the tables in front of cafés are highly coveted, crowds of people flock to parks, almost everywhere you can see sunglasses, tank tops and shorts – the city is buzzy and colorful again. But every year I ask myself: „Where have they been the whole winter?“

March is drawing to an end and slowly but surely we approach the Easter holidays. I’m not quite sure if it’s the sunny weather or the colourful easter decorations that you can see at almost every store right now, but I totally feel like dressing myself brightly coloured. Why don’t we leave painting Easter eggs to the Easter bunny for now and deck ourselves with freshly spring colors. Because spring has arrived and it’s going to stay. So, take your brushes, get set, go!
