Slowly, but surely summer seems to be over and fall has finally arrived. And like each and every year I await fall with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m a little sad that it’s going to be colder and colder outside, but on the other hand I’m looking forward to the “leatherjackets, cozy sweaters and booties“- time of the year.
When we start to put on our gloves and beanies, when there’s scent of glühwein and roasted almonds in the air and we secretly hope for snow, it becomes clear: Christmas is coming. The glühwein season has started, present searching begins and our homes are about to get decorated festively. But not only our home need to get decorated – as soon as my surrounding ablates with light, I feel like dressing myself up for Christmas!
Shoes and chocolate. Do you think it’s only a cliche, that women especially love these two things? When I asked my friend Lena some days ago, if she likes me to bring along some chocolate from the industrial selling of Lindt, she answered: „No, thanks, I’m more like the chips type.“ Lack of understanding. Huh? No chocolate? I can’t believe it. But as we all know, exceptions prove the rule. And so everyone else that I asked, if I should bring along chocolate, responded with euphoric „Yeeees!“ messages. When it comes to shoes, I guess it’s more obvious. Or how would you explain the many „This pair, or this pair?“ shoe-shopping-pictures I receive from my friends monthly? And who would have thought: leader of shoe-shopping-pictures is Chips-Lena! Although we’ve taken to refuse confirming cliches, I have to admit: I’m in love with shoes and chocolate! Badly!
Trend color: Red. This time I got inspired by this beautiful fall / winter 2014 look by Prabal Gurung. But he wasn’t the only one that showed us a red-on-red look this fall / winter. And although I normally don’t feel attracted by pieces in red, I’ve fallen head over heels for „shades of red“ look this year. Where does it come from? As we know, red is the color of love – so could it be, that red touches our inner romantic side? Or do we just still think red is the expression of sensuality and passion?
Have you ever thought about how it would be to be Carrie for one day or even more important to own her closet? If I had one wish and I wasn’t allowed to wish for peace but rather only for material things, I guess I would choose Carrie Bradshaws closet. By the way – who doesn’t think of Sex and the City, Cosmopolitans and shoes when hearing the name „Carrie“, must have fallen into a deep sleep during the last years. And who doesn’t know what I’m talking about when I say „Carrie“ and „tulle skirt“, needs to have a look at the Sex and the City Intro quickly.
„I like my money right where I can see it – hanging in my closet.“ Carrie Bradshaw
This is the second look me and my friend Princess Leia shot on saturday. As I already told you, the two looks we did have nothing in common. You can have a look at the first one here. I know, I know, my friends name isn’t Princess Leia, her name is Sarah. But to give sense to all of that, I decided Princess Leia from now on is my new nickname for Sarah. I think she won’t like it, but hey, she’s a got a female name including a title of nobility. It could have been worse, like Jabba or something.
Some weeks ago, deals.com startet the „Collective Styles“ blogparade in collaboration with OTTO.de, myself.de and Two for Fashion. Twelve bloggers, divided in three groups, are going to create a look with the topic „a sunday walk in fall“. The exciting thing about that: the blogparade is like a relay race. My team members are Ivette, Theresa and Annemarie. Ivette started with picking the top, Theresa then picked a matching bottom and now it’s up to me to pick some shoes. Because the whole outfit isn’t allowed to cost more than 200 €, each of us needs to find something up to 50 €.
Paris, the city of love, as they say. If you have been there before, I guess you can tell why. To me, Paris has a very special flair, that I can hardly describe and that I only experienced in Paris. When I think about Paris, I first think about having a cozy little breakfast on a little french balcony, with croissants, jam, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. I think about a cozy long walk through one of the beautiful parks and of crazy passionate shopping. The life in Paris seems to be lively and calm at the same time. And I think this is exactly the magic I feel. Although I’m currently not in Paris, I love to dream myself there – and of course I didn’t refuse to annoy Bene with (unconvincing) french accent while we did the photo shoot. Magnifique!
Did I already mention that I love denim? I love it in every shape and color. If there would be a ranking about my happiness about new clothes, probably my happiness about a new denim item would be ranked before my happiness about new shoes. And this one already is really great. You can imagine that I leaped for joy, when I found the black-grey skinny jeans and the black-grey denim jacket. It seems as if they were twins, got separated to grow up with two different labels. Reunion is done right now.
