„I didn’t say anything – but my shirt did.“ When I saw this shirt at Zara a couple of days ago, I noticed again how attracted I feel to labeled shirts. Of course, I need to be able to identify myself with the sayings. I’m not sure why I felt attracted by the word „loser“, but I needed to buy it, because I also like it’s wide cropped shape.
Each and every year I can’t wait for summer to come! But when summer’s finally there, I wonder why I have been so excited. It’s the first hot summer day. I’m lying on my bed, the sun is shining through the windows. I guess sun did that for a while, because it became super hot inside my flat. My good-morning-coffee makes me sweat even more. I need to take a shower. A cold one. What now? Blow-dry my hair. Bad idea – I could use another cold shower. But there’s no time for it. Make up. It’s way to hot for make up, but I think I can’t go without, so I just put on the essentials: mascara, powder and rouge. Until we’re leaving, I’m sitting with my bikini on my bed and think about what I’m going to wear. Outside it’s even more hot. I augur ill. Sure thing – my car is standing in the sun. I open the door and a heatwave rolls over me. I quickly open the windows and get out of the car again. Five minutes later it didn’t get better, but we’re going to hit the road. The steering wheel is unbelievably hot and I start to imagine how it would look like when it would melt. We arrive. We lay down our beach towels, I walk barefoot through the sand into the water. I can feel a small breeze.
Maxi dresses – an essential piece of clothing. Since years. And I’m so happy maxi dresses stay in trend. You can buy them for almost every occasion – for festivities, for a shopping trip or for a day on the beach. This weekend the weather means well for us – it’s unbelievably sunny and wonderful warm in Cologne. And if there’s something I love aside from these sunny days, it’s the mild summer evenings. But not only because of the pleasant temperatures and the golden sunset light, but also because of the wanton mood you can feel almost everywhere. You can see people are more happy, pleased and relaxed. It’s the same for me and these are the kind of evenings I love to wear maxi dresses that look light and casual.
It doesn’t have to be sweet and playful all the time – sometimes it may be a little classy and chic too. Even if you don’t care two fingers about business, like me, a cool summer business look is always right. My most important date for yesterday has been „eating ice cream“, but even if you do have a really important business appointment, in summer it doesn’t always have to be a lady’s suit and a classic blouse. Lightly blouses and silk shirts, plain skirts or (currently very go-go) skorts, discreet jewelry and plain pumps – and your “summer business chic” look’s done.
I guess they would have laughed badly about me. So, I actually do wear flats and I fall down anyway. Yes, I tumbled. And yes, I guess it looked funny. My parents, who aren’t Charlie Chaplin and Mary Poppins, but are at least as cool as, surely would have laughed as well. Not that I fall down all the time, but if I do, I kind of act a little strange: 1. get up quickly, 2. look right and left, if anybody saw it, 3. shortly check, if anything hurts, 4. laugh, 5. get away from here. Of course, nothing did hurt, so I was able to laugh about myself. Well, that’s how it is. I’m one of the people, who like to run into objects, drop things and drop oneself.
Today I’ve got a great giveaway for you! April’s almost over and so is the first month for me being a blogger as well. To thank you for your support, your nice comments and all the lovely words, you can win this adorable statement necklace by Zara and one of the three Essie nail polishes (“go ginza”, “lovie dovie”, “bikini so teeny”).
The notorious duck face. I wonder who did the duck face first and why so many many girls started to copy it. In theory I understand why people do the duck face – you get bigger lips and eyes. Of course, I also did it in front of the mirror. And I thinks that’s exactly where it came from – it’s one of our „mirror-looks“.
I’ll keep it short today: I wish you all a happy Easter! Enjoy the sunny holidays and have a nice time with your families. Don’t forget to eat a lot of treats.
Back in the days I was a child, the one thing I loved most about Eastern has been the Easter egg hunt. Someone somehow decided that you have to quit doing it when you grow up. That’s a real shame! Some days ago I dyed some Easter eggs and accidently almost every single one got the camouflage look. Actually not pretty, but they would have been perfect to hide in the backyard. Maybe I can convince Bene of hiding Easter eggs next year. In that case I would buy brown eggs and mix all colors again.
Every time someone asks: „What’s your favorite color?”, I answer „green“. To be honest, I never really can decide what my favorite color is. But because mostly „every color“ isn’t an acceptable answer I proceeded to claim that green’s my favorite one. But in truth I do love every color. That doesn’t make the choice of clothing easier, but at least larger.
If there is one thing I really dislike doing than it’s ironing. Clean the windows – okay, vacuum cleaning – no problem, wash the dishes – why not, but ironing? I don’t really know why I dislike ironing that much, but somehow the iron isn’t one of my favorite objects. My last iron had to learn about the hard way. About one year ago I moved into my new place and I truly lazed away my iron by mistake. Never let it be said that wishes can’t come true.
